Here's what some of our customers say about us…..
Devon and Cornwall Customers
I had the opportunity to complete NVQ3 Advice and Guidance via Bay Training in 2006 so, when I had the chance to undertake another work based qualification, I had no hesitation in phoning Jo and Richard to see if it was possible for me to work towards level 4. I also approached other providers but found that I got the best value quote, to start as soon as I wanted and completely tailored to my workplace and learning aspirations from Bay Training. I was able to work with Jo again and found that it was just as rewarding and relevant as the level 3 was. It was a welcome series of opportunities for me to reflect on my practise, re-visit models for practice and to consolidate knowledge on legislation, policies and procedures that are relevant to my working environment.
I have full confidence in recommending Bay Training to anyone and hope that our paths may cross again in the future.
(Cathy - Plymouth - Former Candidate)
I would highly recommend Bay Training - completing my NVQ level 4 Advice & Guidance was straightforward and stress-free thanks to my knowledgeable and supportive Assessor, Richard. Bay Training offer a professional yet friendly service, and communication was excellent. I was able to study at my own pace, fitting the qualification around fluctuating work commitments. Thank you Bay Training for making the process so easy and enjoyable.
(Laura - Westcountry Housing Association - Former Candidate)
As I set out to undergo re-training in my new career, my Line Manager set out to find a training service provider that could maintain professional and reliable support, but be flexible to attend our premises as and when required, so the business operation still ran smoothly.
Step forward: Bay Training Services. Richard King & Jo King - "The Bay Team"
Richard & Jo clearly put me, the client, first at all times. Excellent communications, thorough in documentation, well organised and realistic time scales. The company benefited by their expertise in developing my skills, enabling me to play a crucial part in helping my company gain Matrix accreditation as well as help me personally sail through my NVQ level 4 Diploma in Advice & Guidance.
I have no hesitation in recommending Richard & Jo to help any company, of any size, to support continuous personal development for the individual in any aspect of their expertise.
Thank-you once again to Richard & Jo for your excellent support.

“I really enjoyed doing my Level 3 NVQ IAG it was not as difficult as I thought it was going to be and with your help and support I found it not so daunting at all so thank you for all your time and advice”
(John – Plymouth - Former candidate)
“City College Plymouth has worked with Bay Training Services for four years now and I have been extremely pleased with the retention and achievement of learners. Student feedback has always been extremely positive and the pastoral care is of an excellent standard”
(Rik Haws - Faculty of Health, City College Plymouth.)
"My experience of doing the NVQ was very nerve racking at first, but once I got into it the nerves went away and it was really enjoyable. You realise how well you do your job as you dissect your work and really study what you do all the time. The assessors aren't as scary as you might first think and they are there to help and support you, not just examine you."
(Mandy--Honicknowle Commnet Ltd - Former candidate)
"I would like to thank you for the impeccable service that I have received from you. I just wanted to let you know how satisfied I am with Bay Training Services. I think you have a wonderful teaching style, which is warm and friendly and highly professional. You have also personally helped me in the past with some very useful advice, and for that I am especially grateful."
(Ray--St Loye's Foundation - Former candidate)
"Just a quick note to say a big THANK YOU for all your help, advice & guidance that you have given me on my journey that culminated in me gaining this qualification. You have supported me in too many ways to put on an e-mail, but mainly you have shown me how to get the balance right. I now understand, not only, what it takes to be a good guidance practitioner, but equally, what it takes to be an excellent assessor. Thank you."
(Nigel--St Loye's Foundation - Former candidate)

"I really have been impressed by Bay Training's professionalism and friendliness, not to mention patience! In the whole process from induction to certificate delivery. It was as painless but as rigorous as it could be. And you can quote me on that!"
(Susanna - Glastonbury - Former Candidate)
"I have just completed an NVQ L4 in A&G and I would like to say thanks very much to Bay Training for making the journey throughout a very enjoyable one. All information I was given was free from any doubt or confusion. The classroom based theory delivery was extremely interesting with a range of teaching styles.
When I was being observed the assessor made me feel totally relaxed and confident to carry out the interviews without feeling inhibited in any way, following on from them comprehensive observation reports were completed in turn around time. All e-mails I sent were replied to in a timely fashion always giving me clear clarification. This is a professional organisation with friendly relaxed staff who are dedicated to your achievement. May good fortune be with you all."
(Marcia - Probation Service - Former Candidate)
Previously I had had a very bad experience completing my NVQ Level 3 in Information, Advice & Guidance, so I was somewhat dreading undertaking my NVQ Level 4. From the moment I met Jo she made me feel relaxed and confident about the process; Jo completely changed my opinion with the help and support she gave to me. I was taught how to evidence the information in a clear and concise way needed to pass my Level 4. Jo and Richard are brilliant assessors, they were there to help every step of the way and made the whole process from start to finish straight forward and dare I say it…enjoyable!
Thank you both for the advice and support, if I can get the funding for Level 6, Bay Training is certainly my first choice!

Dorset and Hampshire Customers
Despite the slight nerves in starting my NVQ L4 Diploma in Advice and Guidance, Jo and Richard made the initial meeting very relaxed and welcoming whilst making a professional approach to what I will be doing. The process of the NVQ was spelt out to me so I knew what I would be doing and when. Even when my work case-load increased which had a knock on effect to me doing my NVQ, at no point was I made to feel under any added pressure to get it done. They were both very supportive and understanding of the situation.
Jo and Richards obvious chemistry comes across very well which in turn made me feel relaxed and not afraid to ask any questions when needed. If I did have a problem or question they were easily contactable by phone and email despite juggling several candidates at one time. The feedback I received from written pieces of work and observations was clear, concise and always helpful. I found this very useful in confirming what I do well and what I can continue to develop with as a professional. Very much appreciated!
Lastly, just to say a big thank-you to Jo and Richard for the fantastic support and guidance in completing my NVQ!
(Lee - Bournemouth Borough Council - Former Candidate)
“Every aspect of Bay Training’s delivery of the NVQ was professional and excellent. The team was easily contactable by email or phone, and queries answered quickly. Work was returned promptly with positive feedback and encouragement. This was my first NVQ, and I was a bit apprehensive about building the portfolio and gathering all the evidence. My assessor, Marian, was so patient, and calmly steered me through to completion in the agreed time.
The taught sessions were a dynamic mix of theory and best practice, with opportunities to develop IAG skills through group activities and sharing knowledge and experience with other students. Observations and meetings with the assessor were effectively organised in advance, so could be planned smoothly into a busy work schedule. Observation feedback always allowed time for discussion and constructive reflection, followed by a comprehensive write-up of the evidence.
The most significant aspect of the training for me was understanding the importance of “getting IAG right” - ensuring equal access to services, respecting client confidentiality and delivering in a safe environment where trust can grow, and clients feel empowered to explore new avenues of learning, training and work. It has provided a bench mark for my own delivery, and given me confidence that the service is appropriate.
I really enjoyed my NVQ – it was hard work, but I always knew the team was also putting in the effort to support and encourage me. Thank you Jo, Richard and Marian for a truly inspiring training!”
(Liz – Bournemouth - Former candidate)
"I would just like to say that this has been an incredible learning journey for me. I feel I have learnt and developed so much over the course of doing the NVQ 4. I have gained valuable and fresh insight into my own practice and am developing those area I feel I need to.
The ongoing support I have had from you has been really appreciated and invaluable to me, especially at the trickier moments. Having never undertaken an NVQ before I feel you prepared us well and everything you promised was delivered including saying there wouldn't be masses of paperwork.
The assessment process with my assessor has been well organised, effective and efficient. I was able to complete in my target time as agreed with her at the outset. She responded quickly to all my work, emails etc. Overall I have no complaints only praise and would thoroughly recommend this qualification with Bay Training (as I already have to my colleague)".
(Tracy - Bournemouth and Poole College - Former candidate)
"Jo and Richard's delivery on the NVQ has been professional, supportive and refreshing! My awareness of good practise has been raised and I have been able to build upon existing skills and abilities. The assessment process has been helpful and constructive and I can now identify myself as a skilled helper. I have waited a long time to do this course, thank you Bay Training"
